Final design, executive project and management of works of a private villa in Sabaudia. Complete design of the interiors, realisation of a new pergola and an outdoor swimming pool.
The new layout of the villa aims to enhance the relation between the inside and outside, letting the latter penetrate into the house. The two large steel-frame folding windows underline the continuity between the exterior and the living area, and are framed and strenghtened by structural steel hoops. The pergola, realised with a raw gunny fabric, creates a shady filter zone which directly connects the inside with the garden. The living room features a vault-shaped ceiling and a gray and green coloured modern linoleum floor. The kitchen was appositely designed and built in wood and Corian. The traditional pozzolana-lime-plaster finishes have been preserved as to allow a better integration with the surrounding Circeo Natural Reserve. To completion of the project, a water-knife swimming pool flanks the pergola, resembling one of the typical drinking troughs that are to be found among the Pontine countryside.
